Admiralty Chart: Purple area depicts seagrass bed

A very sparse seagrass bed up until around 4m depth where is gets dense and fairly long leading up to mixed seabed and seaweeds. Here is a good place to find marine species that live in the sand such as burrowing worms, anemones and heart urchins (Echinocardium cordatum). A popular shore dive entering from Beacon Cove. The sediment is fine and silty here which is easily mixed up in rough weather. Fishing debris such as rope and crab pots are often found here. This seagrass bed is a feature of the Torbay Marine Conservation Zone.
